The Wedding & the Fight_______________________

There is a wedding,

this time a real one,
full of hope for the future.

But Jud, as stalker, ghoul, and perpetual outsider
-- and as the dark side of man --
lurks outside the window, plotting his revenge.

As the newlyweds stand on a haystack,
participating in a fertility ritual,
after the wedding,

Jud sets it and another haystack on fire.

Laurey jumps to safety.

As Jud stands there, menacingly,

Curly jumps on him

and Jud is stabbed with his own knife.

The good side of man has killed
the malevolent, predatory, side,
out of love for a woman.
Now, at last, happiness is possible.
